A world free of poverty where the well-being of each and every person is ensured: This goal, which forms part of the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda, is still possible but only if the relationship between people and nature is fundamentally changed and social inequalities are reduced. That is the conclusion of the first UN Global Sustainable Development Report, drafted by an independent group of experts co-chaired by Peter Messerli (center) of the University of Bern and Endah Murniningtyas (left). The team of experts handed its report over to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and presented it to the general public in September.
