Key Area
A world free of poverty where the well-being of each and every person is ensured: This goal, which forms part of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, can only be achieved if the relationship between people and nature is fundamentally changed. That is the conclusion of the UN Global Sustainable Development Report, drafted by an independent group of experts co-chaired by Professor Peter Messerli of the University of Bern and Endah Murniningtyas from Indonesia.
The University of Bern and its partners also want to contribute to a sustainable future: With the Wyss Academy for Nature, a globally leading research and implementation center in the field of nature and people has been set up.
